About Alison

I originally trained as a textile designer at West Surrey College of Art and Design, England, but my first work was designing greeting cards.

Over the years I have applied my art to a variety of media. I have illustrated children’s books, consumer magazines, printed textiles and china. I have also created a range of cross stitch and tapestry kits. Probably the most unusual application of my illustrations was for a cowboy wall hanging.

Over the years I have designed for many well known companies and charities including: BBC, National Trust, World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), RSPCA, RSPB, Second Nature, Elgin Court and Dunoon Ceramics. Most recently I have been creating a range of products for  Royal Collection which is part of the Royal Household and manages the public access to such palaces as Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.

My main interest is illustrating heritage buildings and landscapes. I have been fortunate to work with National Trust which is the leading charity for preserving England’s heritage.

I live on the south coast of England in a charming seaside resort of Southsea, which is located on Portsea Island.
